Startling Insomnia

Skitter patter goes my heart, adrenaline coursing through my veins. The hour is late- or early, depending on your view. Sleep eludes me, for reasons unknown. Is it snowing? Powdery flakes act like caffeine, cranking my heartbeat. Music fails me. Chamomile fails me. I guess I'm up for now. Elusive sleep evades my grasp. If I lie in bed for hours trying to sleep, the dark thoughts will attack. Creeping through the darkness to seep into my brain, urging chaos and harm. Distraction is best right now. Staying occupied until I can't concentrate, I may be up all night. I might as well be productive! Writing this won't be a waste. I wonder what this night will bring?

All the meds in the world can’t seem to fix me. I have a blast, a wonderful day. Then it’s over and the depression hits me. Where’s the fairness? I try so hard, Only to succumb to those feelings. No one wants to be depressed. I don’t want this. Now I choose to drown in music. It’s better than sitting in the silence. The emotions are always louder in silence, begging for attention. Begging to take over and destroy. I want to be happy. I want to feel like this life welcomes me. I don’t like the way these emotions make me feel. Like I don’t have a place here. That I should disappear. I deserve to be here. I have a future here. Depression doesn’t get to kill me. And yet, I can’t kick this depression no matter what I try. I have to find a way to coexist with this poison.

I want to reach out with my writings and inspire others. Even though it is easy to get lost in the darkness, one can almost always find a light-if you look for one. Some days even I don't look for the light... I struggle with depression, anxiety and diabetes.

Apparently I'm INFP, but aspects of it are a little skewed due to mental illness. I may be a bit strange and unconventional-I am a Kitty Cat Imperialist. (and yes, I'm serious) Anyways, I like making new friends. I try and be a nice person. Sometimes I watch people on DA because they seem really interesting! All shall be accomplished while serving the Kitties, who rule this world, though it is not widely known.

I love to read books, especially Ilona Andrews, David Weber, Anne Bishop, Ali Brandon, Sofie Kelly, Lorna Freeman, Wen Spencer, Shelly Laurenston, Seanan McGuire and Bruce Coville.

I'm a HUGE manga and anime fan! Some of my favorites are: Fairy Tail, Chobits, XXXHolic, Library Wars, Vampire Game, Mugen Spiral, and anything by Yuji Iwahara-including but not limited to Cats Paradise and King of Thorn.

My taste in music is varied, But some bands I absolutely adore are: Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Five Iron Frenzy, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Shawn Mendes, Epica, Nightwish and Blind Guardian. I also like to listen to a LOT of Nightcore on Youtube.

I have blue hair, which I found to be a very important life choice in order to help with my depression.

I post a fairly wide collection of art types. Poetry, song, stories and chapters, cat pics, blanket pics, drawings and digital art (mostly DAmuro), and the occasional random other things. Being creative is something I cherish a lot, and one of the things I can't handle being cut off from. It's an important part of me, and I hope you'll appreciate it too!

I'd like to apologize for the lack of cat pics recently. Sophia has been having some expensive health problems so I've been really stressed out, and haven't been taking pictures. She has hyper thyroid, and getting the right dose of medication for that has been difficult. The first dose we tried made her thyroid go too inactive. In three weeks she goes in for another thyroid test. Hopefully this new dose is just right. Last year Sophia was started on an anxiety med because she would throw up all the time and the doctors had no idea why. At first we managed to get her to take them, but now she refuses them, and throws them up. I have ordered a compounded anxiety med in tuna flavor, that will hopefully arrive next week. We will see if she will take it, and if it helps. Since things have been so stressful for both her and me (she often refuses her food) I hope things will settle down soon. I love my cat, picky princess that she is, and will do my best to provide her with the best possible
