Disappear Into the Dark

Shadows, shadows everywhere,
and not a Light to see.
The Voices whisper and entice,
to leave everything behind.
“Come with us,
come Disappear.
No one else will care.”
I cast about to find the path,
but it seems that I am lost.
I wish that I could follow them,
but there is too high a cost.
I've heard the screams,
I've seen the scars.
They don't mean me well,
I'm sure.
I wish that it weren't so dark.
All I need is a flame,
just a tiny spark.
Something for me to find my way.
Someway for me to be found.
Instead I start to fade,
my memories locked or bound.
Is anybody out there?
Will my voice reach that far?
Or am I doomed to to Disappear,
and become another scar?
