There comes a time when denial won't protect you
or maybe when protecting yourself isn't the most important thing anymore.
It's true I can't control my feelings,
and they frustrate me to no end...
but you needed to hear those words
more than I needed to keep them locked away.
It's not like keeping them from you would have made them less true.
You needed to hear them.
When you thanked me,
my heart wept.
I am surrounded by affection.
How can you not be?
Someday, I will look into your eyes
and I will say those words to your face.
I will finally get to hug you,
and make you feel you aren't alone.
Even if you can never return my feelings,
I want you to know you are loved.

Between Light and Dark
Suffering in the rain, while dancing under the stars. I know light will break through; that light will cast a shadow, but shadows give shade on a hot summer day, so I'll stand in that light and let the shadows fall. Love in the light and love in the dark, knowing both will come and go.
